HOUSING RENOVATION IN PORTO CRISTO
Reform and extension of a single-family house between partitions, built following bioconstruction criteria. The desire of the property in terms of housing needs was to have a large studio for the whole family, a living room-kitchen-dining room open to the outside, a patio largely used as a garden and rooms solely for sleeping. In this way, the studio was located on the first slope, facing the street, in a double-height space that communicates through a balanced staircase with the loft located on the first floor, where we find the rooms. On the second slope, facing the patio, the living room-kitchen-dining room was located, and in the wing that surrounds the patio the bathroom-laundry and the machine room were located.
The house is heated by a wood-burning thermo-fireplace that heats the radiators. Hot water is made from thermal solar panels reinforced with a gas heater. It does not have a cooling system, since the inertia it has, together with solar protections and good cross ventilation mean that it is not necessary.
