Expansion of Son Carrió Park

In the plot next to the sports center in Son Carrio in 2009 it was made a first draft to do the municipal park, of which only a part was executed. The local government of Sant Llorenç des Cardassar proposed us to perform the missing part. The existent park consists of a paddle tennis court, playground, skate, pergola and several kind of urban furniture. The local government wanted to equip the park with a children’s area with water games and more vegetation. The project starts in contrast to existent park, which has straight forms, hard pavements and little vegetation, and bet on more organic forms, soft and more draining pavements, and plentiful vegetation which provides shade and generates a pleasant micro-climate. The zone formed by water games, pergola and coloured sails and the expansion of skate area makes transition between the two parts. The rest of the park will be left with a more natural appearance, where the vegetation will be the focus. With the lands coming from the excavation, a mountain will be built forming grandstands towards the children's playground and the skate area. As we said, planted trees will be native such as olive tree, carob and oak, plots also will be built to plant different types of aromatic herbs and, attached to the perimeter fence, which leads to the road,  oleanders of different colours will be planted.
